A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
":) they have a QR System which You can order drinks and food after scanning once ordered food was delivered quite fast < 10minutes payment made after finish eating - at the cashier just need to give QR No and add in any additional kuihs or prepacked food roti boom the best pulut kuning + cken rendang the best :( for local kuihs and prepacked food need to queue (quite long queue)"
"So many type of traditional kuih you can choose from. The kuih is made with full ingredients and tastes just like how granma used to make them! Nasi lemak to me is sooo delicious especially ‘sambal sotong’very superb. Roti canai melayu very soft and delicious. The beef rendang here has the most authentic taste you’ll ever get. Place is a bit crowded especially weekend. They also have packed food to go like laksam, soto, mee goreng and etc. Definitely will come again to repeat their dishes and of course highly recommended!!"
"Had a simple breakfast here after a hike. Mee rebus and mineral water. Didnt has a chance to order other food as the queue was too long. 2 shops and looks very busy with customers. Can order online but still need to wait long and i think they are prioritizing those order directly to the cashier."
"Updated 20/12/25 - the rendang is still as good. This place has remained authentic. Well done. Updated 5/11/23 - having been overseas, it has been a long time since I’ve been here. The place is still as great, fantastic food and friendly staff. Satu satunya tempat yang mesti dilawati kalau di Ampang. This place has been around for decades and I’ve been eating here since a decade ago. Arguably the most authentic local Malay food store there is in this area. Everything is nice, yes, everything is nice. The beef rendang here has the most authentic taste you’ll ever get. I would give this place a 7-star rating if there’s such option."
"I have been dining at this stall since the early 90s and decide to review it now in case I totally forget to. The specialty here is the tradional Malay cakes such as serimuka, kuih keria, tepung talam, kuih badak, pulut panggang, lepat ubi, bingka, etc. which are probably the best in KL/Selangor. Standards have been maintained throughout the years since most of the cakes are still made by the owner. Those from suppliers are strictly evaluated and only the best are put out for sale. The stall is only open for breakfast and lunch and the cakes usually run out before noon. However other cooked dishes such as nasi lemak, meehoon, roti canai with their accompanying rendang, sambal sotong, fried chicken, etc. are available until lunch time. Bulk sale for small gatherings, functions, etc. make up a significant portion of Mak Jah's business."
"Nasi lemak the nasi itself tastes good, but not the sambal. I would like to go back again for nasi lemak. The service is very good that mak cik explained to me the difference between the kuihs. The place is windy in the morning."
"Mihun sup tasted below average but soto was good. They also have mi rebus, nasi lemak, laksa and all but have yet to try. Their kuih is one of the best in town. Love the place. Clean, airy & spacious."
"My third morning here, not a breakfast person, i have ordered nasi lebih and sambal lebih 3 times. Only got one time sambal lebih, the sambal flavour not consistent. Nasi portions were nice la for nasi lebih. Paru goreng is fast moving item, manage to get it on the third day. Overall oki la, all the kuih2 is yummy, but dont order drinks there. Taste bad. 3 times drink no sugar, cair, kurang susu."
